It took me awhile to make a decision on who I wanted to vote for as the next President of the United States. As a Republican, I haven't been very happy with the party leadership for quite some time. In particular, I never really liked John McCain.
Yet, recently, after hearing something he said, I changed my mind. I realized, that regardless of how I view him politically, deep down inside I have tremendous respect for him. He has always served his country, has never asked for anything in return, and has always been proud of America.
In contrast, his opponent Barack Hussein Obama has always received from this country, constantly seeking out for more, and until recently, could not say that he or his wife were proud of America. I noticed with particular curiousity last November, how on Veterans Day, all the Democratic candidates gathered had their hands over their hearts during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner, that is, all of them but Barack Hussein Obama.
For someone like myself who has served this nation in the military, and pays so much by way of taxes to support her, the choice for President of the United States is clear. We need someone in the world's highest office who knows himself well, regardelss of his faults, instead of someone who is still in search of his identity. Or rather, perhaps that is what should frighten us about the alternative; that Barack Obama knows exactly who he is, just as does John McCain, but chooses to hide his real self and beliefs quite well.
